About Dimitri
Dimitri is a free AI chat for everyday questions: writing an email, making sense of a bill, checking a calculation, planning a trip, fixing a bug in your code, or finding out what happened today. There's nothing to sign up for. Open it and ask.
One chat, the right AI for each message
There are now dozens of capable AI models, and they're good at different things. Some are best at math, some write more naturally, some answer in a second, some cost far less to run. New models come out every few weeks, prices change, and the best choice for a recipe isn't the best choice for a statistics problem.
Dimitri keeps up with all of that so you don't have to. Each message you send is checked for the kind of task it is, then answered by the model that did best on that kind of task in our testing. You don't pick a model, compare plans or follow releases. You just get the answer. See how it works.
Why it's free
Dimitri is paid for by ads. An ad appears below an answer from time to time. Ads are always labeled, never stop you from typing, and are never based on what you write: your conversations are never sent to advertisers.
What makes a free service possible is efficiency. When a faster, less expensive model answers a question just as well, we use it, and we save the stronger, more expensive models for the questions that need them.
What we care about
- Good answers first. Before a model answers anyone, we test it with known-answer questions, blind side-by-side comparisons and long conversations, and we switch when something better comes along.
- Your privacy. No account, name or email. We don't use your conversations to train AI models, and you can delete any conversation. Read the privacy policy.
- Honesty about limits. AI can be wrong. We say so, and when an answer uses the web, we link the sources.
Who we are
Dimitri is made by AFThe Labs. We build Dimitri and test the models behind it; the AI models themselves come from the companies listed in the privacy policy.
